Stony Words: Scala Cinema - Ethel and Ernest

Ethel and Ernest is the animated biographical film based on the graphic novel of the same name by Raymond Briggs, author of Fungus the Bogeyman and The Snowman. It tells the story of the author’s parents, lady’s maid Ethel and milkman Ernest, from their first chance meeting in 1928, through a period of extraordinary events and social change, to their deaths within months of each other in 1971. It will be preceded by a short piece on the making of the film featuring the author and the cast who provided the voices.
