Stony Tracks  is a fundraising event for York House held on the second Wednesday of each month. Entry is £5.00 and tickets are available from York House and Odells.

At each show, Derek Gibbons will be in conversation with a local resident about their life, and playing some of their favourite music. (sound familiar?). This month’s guest is Vicky Holton, descended from Tombs (farmers) and Holton’s (lorries) families. She trained as a singer with Cleo Laine, & John Dankworth, and will tell of designing for Paul Smith, The Brighton Grand bombing, glass blowing in Venice, Swiss mountain climbing, planting Poppies at the Tower of London, and her historical research.

A small bar will open by 7.30pm for the purchase of beers, wines, and soft drinks. Bar proceeds also go to York House.

You can keep in touch with Stony Tracks via Facebook https://www.facebook.com/stonytracks/

or the Stony Tracks website https://stonytracks.site123.me/ where links to each guests tracks (where available) will be available after each show, together with some of the photos.

BACKGROUND AND HISTORY

The big difference with the radio show, is not only that it’s in front of an audience, but it will feature photos of the guests life on a big screen.

Each shows lasts approximately and hour, and after a short interval, the floor is thrown open to the audience to ask their own questions.

The first event raised a total of over £300 which will go towards York House’s many community and arts events.
