The Song Loft: Claire Hastings and Jenn Butterworth
Venue: York House Centre, London Road, Stony Stratford
Date: 18 Feb 2022
Time: 20:00
The Song Loft has been entertaining Stony Stratfordians since 1976 when it was established by that Stony legend the late great Matt Armour. Over the years The Song Loft has migrated around various venues in Stony. We are currently based at the York House Centre where we present two events every month from September until June. The first Friday of the month we have a Performers’ Night where everyone gets an opportunity to sing or play to an audience and on the third Friday of the month we have a concert where we invite professional musicians to entertain us. However, rules are made to be broken, so for precise details check our new website www.thesongloft.com.
On 18th February we welcome Claire Hastings and Jenn Butterworth two professional musicians from Scotland.
Claire Hastings is a Scottish folksinger, songwriter based in Glasgow. In 2015 she earned the prestigious title of BBC Radio Scotland's “Young Traditional Musician of the Year”, and has since made a name for herself on the folk scene with her 'natural, effortless Scots voice’ (FRUK).
Claire has toured successfully in the UK, Europe and New Zealand as a solo artist and with Jenn Butterworth who is an acoustic folk guitarist and singer also based in Glasgow. Jenn was awarded the title "Musician of the Year" at the 2019 Scots Trad Music Awards, and was nominated for the same title at the 2019 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. Tickets £14.30 via www.thesongloft.com.
Doors open 7.30pm Start time 8.00pm. There is a cash bar at all events.
