The Shadow King – Henry VI – Lauren Johnson.
The reign of Henry VI is often seen as the low point of English history – known only for the Wars of the Roses and the weakness of the monarch and overshadowed by the reign of Richard III (overnight resident at Stony Stratford!). This new account seeks to understand how such a pious and well-meaning man led his country into chaos and family savagery.
Lauren Johnson is a historian and author of The Shadow King: The Life and Death of Henry VI. She is also the author of So Great a Prince, an account of the accession of Henry VIII.
Copes of the book will be available for sale and signing.
