painting of MoliereArguably the greatest writer in the French language, Molière was born exactly 400 years ago – a good excuse, if one were needed, to delve into his fascinating life and controversial work. This talk by Joe Laredo, whose previous subjects have included writers and adventurers Everett Ruess and Sir Richard Burton, will include excerpts from eight of Molière’s plays in première performances of Joe’s own translations by members of Stony Play Readers, as well as music written for their original performances. It will also be the perfect prelude to the Play Readers’ reading of Molière’s most famous play Tartuffe on January 25th.
