Friends of Stony Stratford Library poster advertising their Climate Crisis eventI am pleased to be able to give you details of our next talk, which will be held on Thursday 15th April at 7pm, via zoom. The subject is:
"The Climate Crisis: The Science, the Facts, and What We Can All Do About It.” Our speaker will be Lisa Thomson who is a regular speaker for Greenpeace.

Here are Lisa’s description of the talk and also some details about her work for Greenpeace:

Talk Outline: The Climate Crisis: the Science, the Facts, and What We Can All Do About It
The presentation takes a look at the science and the main drivers of climate change, highlights what governments need to do, as well as how we can all reduce our personal carbon footprints. It covers every aspect of our day to day lives including food, energy, transport, recycling, fast fashion, tech waste and finance.

Lisa has been inspired by Greenpeace’s work ever since she was little. Driven by environmental destruction she saw through the media, as a student she got involved with her local group. She became a Greenp[eace Speaker in 2018 and over that time has had the pleasure of presenting to thousands of people, from primary and secondary schools right through to universities, businesses and community groups.

In her day job, Lisa is a filmmaker working on arts and educational films and in her spare time she co-runs the Camden Greenpeace Group. She believes knowledge is the most powerful tool we have to change the world for the better, and as a Greenpeace Speaker she hopes to inspire others to be that change!

As usual please let me know if you would like the link to the zoom meeting by emailing fosslmk@gmail.com. I will send the link at the beginning of the week commencing 12th April.
