FoSSL's next talk will be on Thursday 17th June at 7pm,where Anna McEvoy will be delivering a talk via Zoom on: Stowe House - past, present and future.
Discover the rich history behind one of Buckinghamshire's grandest - and least visited - palaces, and Stowe House Preservation Trust's herculean efforts to restore the main mansion and open it to the public.
Anna McEvoy has been a Stony Stratford resident for about 25 years and worked for Stowe House Preservation Trust for 16 years. She started off at Visitor Services Manager, opening the house to the public with a very small casual team. After recruiting a large voluntary team and gaining an assistant, with a large HLF grant in 2015, she became House Custodian, helping to research and project manage the restoration and responsible for the historic archives and collection and the conservation housekeeping of the state rooms.
