FoSSL presents 'An Evening with Tessa Hadley'. Tessa Hadley is the author of six highly regarded novels. She will read from the most recent of these, The Past (which won the Hawthornden Prize for 2016), and will discuss her writing and answer questions. Her most recent publication is the collection of short stories Bad Dreams (2017), which is due out in paperback in January. We hope to have paperback copies of both books available for sale at discounted prices on the evening.

Tessa Hadley's work appears regularly in the New Yorker and other magazines and she reviews regularly for the Guardian. Her work has been praised by, among many others, Hilary Mantel, who says: 'Tessa Hadley recruits admirers with each book. She writes with authority, and with delicacy; she explores nuance, but speaks plainly; she is one of those writers a reader trusts.'

Tickets will be available at the Library from Wednesday 3 January.
