Joe has described himself and the talk thus:

"Joe Laredo is a writer and translator living in Stony Stratford. He enjoys reading and talking about interesting people, as well as listening to and playing music. He has given talks for FoSSL on the composers Chabrier and Gottschalk and for Stony Words on translating from French. He plans to give two talks on Paul Robeson as soon as we can all get together again in the library. This talk, on Richard Francis Burton, is not suitable for under 16s and contains material that some may find offensive."
