Date: 18 Nov 2023

The next FOSSL (Friends of Stony Stratford Library) talk will be on Saturday 18th November at 2pm. The speaker is Charlie Hailes, a classics teacher who will be talking about: “Plato: The Psychology of the Tripartite Soul”.

Charlie describes the talk thus:
“A discussion of Plato’s argument for the tripartite soul. What is his argument? Is it valid? Why does he make the argument? What is the context of it? If Plato was able to argue this on philosophical grounds alone, is psychology a redundant field? I do not claim to have all the answers, but these are questions (ancient) philosophers and classicists have long debated!”

As usual at the end of the talk FOSSL will welcome questions and then invite you to join them for tea, coffee, soft drinks and home-made cakes. Tickets will be available now from Stony Stratford Library. You can collect your ticket in person or telephone on 01908 562562 to reserve a place.
