poster advertising fossl talk a little bit eccentricThe next FoSSL (Friends of Stony Stratford) talk will be ‘A Little Bit Eccentric’ on Thursday 20th July at 7pm in Stony Stratford Library.

The speaker is Paul Eccentric, who is a published songwriter, poet, playwright and novelist and is probably best known as being one half of the comedic beat poetry combo, The Antipoet. He has played hundreds of festivals including Glastonbury, The Edinburgh Fringe, Camp Bestival etc.

After over 40 years of writing and performing, and having several books published, Paul is now thoroughly enjoying writing in his favourite genre, that of Steampunk. His series, ‘The Periwinkle Perspective’ is published by Caffeine Nights Books and volume four, ‘For All We Know’ will be launched at Waterstones MK on 9th November 2023.

Paul lives in Aston Clinton, Bucks, with his wife, Donna, from where they run three telephone box libraries and a farm school library, whilst looking after cats; a goat; various chickens and Samantha, the very naughty Herman tortoise.

For those of you who have only the vaguest idea, or none at all, of what Steampunk is, here is your chance to find out! Paul will discuss his writing passion and how he found strategies to overcome his particular type of dyslexia. From his careers officer laughing in his face, when he said that he wanted to write for a living, to having 10 successful published works under his belt! An entertaining evening discussing the joys of writing, the hows, the whys and the wherefores with anecdotes from the world of writing and performing. You will have the chance to ask Paul questions after the talk, and then as usual FoSSL invite you to join them for wine or soft drinks and delicious home made cake.

Tickets for this event will be available from the Library from Tuesday June 27th. Please see the poster for details.
