A Friends of Stony Stratford Library talk: 'From Minor to Major: Faithful Servants in Shakespeare' - A Talk by Rob Gifford.

Tickets available at the Library from Tuesday 24 October.

The talk will look at some Shakespeare plays through the eyes of characters such as Enobarbus in Antony and Cleopatra and Kent in King Lear, who, although second-tier figures, provide the moral centre of the play.

Rob Gifford is an English graduate and a would-be thespian. Earlier this year he played Antonio in the Stony Stratford Theatre Society production of The Merchant of Venice, and he is a regular street performer with SSTS during StonyLive! He also co-ordinated the Shakespeare 400 celebrations in Stratford-on-Ouse. He has also given several talks at the Library on literary topics. For many years Rob was Chair of Stony Stratford Town Council.

As always, wine, fruit juice and home-made cakes will be served after the talk. There is no charge for tickets, but we invite donations on the evening to cover costs.
