York House – A Creative Home for the Arts
painting of york house centreA fantastic open day with the opportunity to see and experience what York House has offered and continues to offer to ensure the creative arts are accessible and available to our local community.

York House is a fantastic 19th century building set in the heart of Stony Stratford. Built as a family home in 1850 it became a school in 1905. However, it was when York House was turned into a youth club in 1963 that it really began its connection with the creative arts. From band practice rooms to permanent artists and from youth drama to art classes, York House is, and has been, the home to many creative groups and individuals. Now, a thriving community centre, owned by the residents of Stony Stratford, we are proud of this heritage and are always seeking ways to reconnect further with the local creative industry. On the morning of 16th September 2023 we will be fusing the past and the present to showcase York House’s rich history as well as holding workshops and information sessions with the current artistic users of the building. There will be fun activities for all, a community café and an opportunity to give your thoughts on how York House can continue to add benefit and accessibility to our local creative community.

No booking required, please just drop in on the day. For further details please see:
