Design Guide

Are you planning to carry out development work such as a new build, alterations or improvements in Stony Stratford, Galley Hill or Fullers Slade?

The Town Council has launched a Design Guide to inform and guide you through development plans you may have. The Town Council cares about its buildings and open spaces and hopes the Design Guide will help ensure that the attractiveness and distinctiveness of Stony Stratford parish is maintained during a time of growth. It is important to make sure that new building works make a valid contribution to the environment of the town by relating sympathetically to existing buildings.

The advice contained in this document is relevant for both new development and alterations. It is applicable to the whole of the parish incorporating Stony Stratford, Galley Hill and Fullers Slade.

The Design Guide was commissioned by the Town Council.with funding from the Futures Group. A working group was then formed to oversee the preparation of the brochure. Thanks are extended to local residents: Michael O’Sullivan, Pat Mortimer, Anne Dietz de Broise, Phil Butler, Paul Woodfield, Rosemary O’Sullivan and John Corbey for the time and effort they have put in as members of the working group.

The Design Guide was produced by Stuart Turner Associates.

Hard copies are also available in the Town Council office so pop in and pick up a copy!
