Annual Autumn Fayre
Our Apple Day has been rebranded as the Autumn Fayre! On 14 October 2012, Stony Stratford Town Council hosted its’ first Apple Day. The Apple Day was held at Mortimer Park, which is the site of the community orchard. The purpose of the event was to welcome people to the riverside site; make the community aware of the draft plans for the community orchard and celebrate everything appley, community orchards etc. The Mayor of Milton Keynes quoted in MK Pulse “Stony Stratford’s Apple Day in Mortimer Park was brilliant, I’ve never seen so many apples!”. The event was such an overwhelming success that the Town Council decided to make it an annual event.
The Autumn Fayre is normally held on a Sunday in late September/early October at Wolverton Road Recreation Ground, Stony Stratford from 12.00-16.00. Entry is free and all are welcome. Entertainment includes a bouncy castle, Punch and Judy show, photo booth, children’s games and The Bradwell Silver Band usually play. The photo booth will have props, but all are welcome to come dressed in an Autumn theme if you would like! We also have a variety of food trucks, a bar, and some stalls. Check our events calendar for details of this year’s event, put the date in your diary now and join us for some Autumn fun!
Apple Day and The Big Lunch are now part of the events that take place on an annual basis for the enjoyment of the community.
