Watling Primary School Consultation

We are delighted to share with you the news that the building of our new Primary School, Watling Primary has begun.

The Denbigh Alliance Multi Academy Trust was selected, amongst stiff local and national competition, to run a new primary school in the Western Expansion Area of Milton Keynes which will support projected demand for local school places.

Open from September 2023, Watling Primary will start small and eventually cater for up to 630 students with the strong Denbigh Alliance Trust ethos of Care, Education and Opportunity. As a trust which is dedicated to the communities, families and young people of Milton Keynes (MK), the development will include sports facilities and provision for a 39-place full time equivalent pre-school.

Our new primary school will be one of the feeder schools for Watling Academy, the Denbigh Alliance’s newly built secondary school in Barrosa Way on the Whitehouse development. Watling Academy has a strong STEM (Science Technology, Engineering and Maths) focus and Watling Primary will align closely with this, whilst also having a forest school element to the curriculum.

Under Section 10 of the Academies Act 2010, in advance of opening, any proposed new school must consult with local stakeholders. We are in a unique situation in that the houses around the primary school are yet to be built, so we are reaching out to anyone who might be interested now or in the future as potential stakeholders, to the Watling Primary website at www.watlingprimary.net
