Government’s proposed planning reforms and consultations

Please see below details of the Government’s proposed planning reforms and consultations. These consultations are open to everyone:

As you may be aware a Planning White Paper was published last week and proposes very significant changes to the Planning System. In addition, a separate consultation was published on proposed changes to the current national planning policy, including the method that is used to calculate local housing needs for local authorities. I thought it would be helpful to provide some initial information, should you wish to understand more about the content of the White Paper.

Links to both of the consultations documents published by the government are provided below:

Whilst the Planning Service is intending to prepare a briefing note on these proposals. There is already a wide range of information that has been produced and published that may be of interest to you, which includes webinars that have been posted on YouTube. Links to some of these resources are set out below in case you wish to find out more about the White Paper.
