Lions Club of Milton Keynes (Stony Stratford): 'Ordinary people doing amazing things'
Welcome to the Lions Club of Milton Keynes (Stony Stratford). The club was formed in 1975 and is celebrating over 40 years of service to local, national and international communities.
The Lions Club of Milton Keynes serves the North of Milton Keynes. We meet at Abbey Hill Golf Centre On 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 8pm. On the 1st Wednesday we have a Social Evening with a meal with our partners.
We have two committees -
Fundraising to plan our fundraising activities and
Welfare to consider applications for help from the community.
At the 3rd Wednesday we have our formal meeting with a meal. At this meeting we discuss the recommendations of the committees. At all meetings the emphasis is on friendship and fun!
Our website is designed to show the outside world who we are, what we do and our wider role in the local and international community, as well as keep fellow club members and other Lions informed of our latest projects and events. Please go to: http://www.stonylions.org.uk/ for further details
Our Club is part of the world's largest network of voluntary service organisations, Lions Clubs International, which celebrated its centenary in 2017. Lions Clubs International are now looking forward to the next 100 years with a vision that one day every need in the world will be served by a Lion or Leo with an overall goal of impacting 200 million lives every year.
Lions Clubs International are focussing on five main areas of need:
Diabetes
Environment
Vision
Hunger
Childhood Cancer
In addition to these five overall aims we will support our community in any way we can particularly helping the development of young people and enabling disadvantaged people of any age.
