Stony Stratford Memory Club

As Stony Stratford makes strides to become a Dementia Friendly community, our goal of establishing a Memory Club in the town is also taking shape.
The Memory Club is for people living with dementia or cognitive impairment and who want to remain as independent & self reliant as possible.
The main objective is for members to enjoy a fun occasion of relaxed social interaction. There’s a warm welcome and refreshments. Stimulating and memory enhancing group activities are offered to bolster confidence and self esteem.
Stony Stratford Community Church is providing the premises, leadership and co-ordination. Starting in January 2019 the club will meet on alternate Monday afternoons from 2.30-4.00pm.
We are calling for volunteers now so we can clear references, process DBS checks & provide training during October & November. Volunteers required from 2.00-4.15pm. The more helpers the better as we need a high ratio of volunteers to members & sufficient to cover holiday and other planned absences. The Club is not for carers - they have 90 minutes respite time. If you are interested in being part of this new and worthwhile venture please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone Hazel on 01908 614124.
