York House Centre Open Day and Family Day
Venue: York House Centre, London Road, Stony Stratford
Date: 29 Jul 2017
Time: 12:00 to - 22:00
Come along and see the wonderfully rejuvenated York House – YOUR youth, community & arts centre in Stony Stratford.
Whether you are a local resident, a member of a community organisation or self-help group, or owner of a business, there will be something for you, AND we will be colouring the day with fine musical entertainment, games and children’s activities, screening of a “Bygone Stony” slide-show, refreshments (from teas and coffees and cakes and ice-creams to local real ales and not-so-local wines), an all-day barbecue, bouncy castle, stalls and a grand finale family barn dance with music and instructions from Innocent Hare.
We will enjoy the presence of the Mayor of Milton Keynes, plus the Stony Stratford Town Crier and The Bard of Stony Stratford.
Our twelve rooms can be hired for regular sessions (from Pilates to toddler groups and therapy sessions), for arts and community events (including concerts for up to 100 people), for meetings and workshops, for children’s or family parties, and for … well, almost anything.
You can meet some of our existing users who will be happy to talk to you and provide information, and perhaps a demonstration of what they do.
Or maybe you have needs for meeting rooms for workshops, training courses etc? York House’s various-sized rooms can accommodate between 20 and 100 people. The ground-floor Beechey Room has built-in AV equipment, and we have other portable equipment e.g. AV projector, flipcharts etc available to hire. Come and explore.
Take a look at our newly-laid grounds, suitable for sports, outdoor events, or just relaxing. We are proud of our well-established Community Gardens where local organisations grow a variety of produce and flowers to raise money for their causes.
Not familiar with Stony Stratford (a lovely historic town to explore, by the way)? York House is at the southern edge of the town on the London Road (MK11 1JQ), coming in from Milton Keynes. Easily accessed from all directions by car, and there is a good public transport service linking us with all areas of Milton Keynes and some of the surrounding Northamptonshire villages and towns.
