Neighbourhood Action Group

Stony Stratford NAG logo

The Stony Stratford Neighbourhood Action Group was set up in January 2008, as part of a Milton Keynes policing scheme called Safer Neighbourhoods, which deals with local community issues. It is made up of local residents, representatives from community organisations, the Town Council, MK Council and the police. It is an action group with the aim of tackling three issues identified by the local community and these are, in order of priority:

1. Anti-Social Behaviour
2. Traffic (including parking)
3. Criminal Damage

ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR – WHAT HAS THE NAG HAS ACHIEVED SO FAR?

So far the group has been responsible for increasing police patrols in hotspot areas of the town (eg “take away” corner), passing information to MK Council Licensing Department to ensure premises are not selling alcohol to young people under age and to help monitor pub licensing agreements. There has also been closer liaison with schools in tackling anti-social behaviour.

 TRAFFIC

The Stony Stratford NAG is currently focusing on traffic issues in the town and will report progress through this web page and the Town Crier.
