STONY STRATFORD'S SIXTH FESTIVAL OF LITERARY STUFF:

“StonyWords! 6”

25th JANUARY to 3rd FEBRUARY 2010

The StonyWords! Festival of literary stuff is back for its sixth year, with its usual hearty mix of poetry, authors, talks, quiz, and haggis.

Starting off in fine form with the traditional Burns’ Night Supper, the festival will take you on a trip through Alderney, Slough, Byzantium, the wondrous Y’hup of Ivor Cutler, the Holy Land, and even Milton Keynes in the year AD2038. There are chances for you to declaim poetry, meet published authors, show your lack of literary knowledge, and have a cup of tea and a cake whilst sharing your favourite books with others. You’ll be hearing of betrayal and murder, love and tension, the dawning of new eras, and why the sparrow had a lump on its head.

The festival is put together by The Cock & Bull Society (what else, it being in Stony?) more about which can be found at www.cockandbull.org.uk.

The festival details are on www.stonystratford.gov.uk or you can email jukeofstony@btinternet.com, or pick up a programme at the library, Odells, Well Past It and other venues in Stony Stratford.
